The sombre nature of the public CBD bus visits means there will be no running commentary playing on board the buses.

However CERA has produced an audio track featuring a commentary from the general manager of demolitions Warwick Isaacs.

Mr Isaacs says the audio is a description of what will be the most often used bus route through the city. The route may change at times depending on the progress of some demolitions.

Members of the public who will be making the bus trip can download the audio file for use on their own personal media players.

CERA only asks that people use headphones as others on the bus may want to experience the trip in silence.

Mr Isaacs hopes people who have an affinity with Christchurch, but who do not live in the city at present, will be able to get a sense of the rebuilding work the CBD will go through.
