Government response to the August 2011 draft of the Central City Plan

CERA coordinated a government response to the Christchurch City Council draft central city recovery plan.

The response forms a basis for ongoing discussions, which are continuing between Christchurch City Council and officials from across Government regarding the plan.

The response supports the draft plan’s vision of a more concentrated CBD and the need to strike the right balance between a strong regulatory framework and encouraging the investment that will revitalise the city

The Government did not make a formal written comment on the draft recovery plan and is therefore not appearing at the Council hearings on the document.

The media release (11 October 2011) about the Government's response is here.
