Port Hills zoning review
On 9 October 2012 the Government announced that it will conduct a final check of the Port Hills red/green zoning.
The Government is satisfied that the criteria for Port Hills red and green zoning decisions are sound and practical. A final check will be undertaken to ensure the Port Hills zoning criteria has been applied appropriately and consistently.
The Port Hills zoning review will check that the red/green criteria have been applied consistently and will enable officials to respond to those property owners who have requested a review. It may review zoning decisions even where owners have not requested a review. It will not revisit the original criteria.

Flat land zoning review
On 15 June 2012 the Government announced that it would conduct a final check of the flat land red/green zoning boundaries. Applications closed on 30 June 2012.
The zoning review has now been completed and was announced on Friday 24 August 2012.
The Government is satisfied that the basis for red and green zoning decisions provide a sound and practical criteria and basis for the repair and rebuilding of residential properties.
